another of putney's battered ornaments ... er, fading glories
*sighs* The good old Star and Garter. Actually in the few years before it closed it was a pretty ropey dive. Desperate 2 for 1 drink promotions and clients to match.
Now it's a characterless nothing place called Bar M. Nice bar girls though. However I recently went to a private party upstairs, and wow, what a room! Absolutely gorgeous. I can imagine the Putney Whig party holding their annual Ladies Dinner night there in 1837.
Nip there on a Friday night Tristan with your camera, and you'll have no trouble sneaking up there for a few shots.
