church of st mary magdalene at cowden in kent

i spotted this church some time ago, way off the main road but intriguing with it's pale and slightly twisted steeple

today i really needed a second break during the slow drive back to london after a long week, so i stopped, and was glad !

immaculately fitted to a twisting and ancient oak frame

sorry about the distortion ... the picture was copied hand-held & using flash in the dark interior of the church

butter that will never melt in your mouth

the french must be bonkers

they send over these 25 kilo blocks of the best butter that money can buy, but pile them up on wooden euro-pallets which are way too small for the job.

as a consequence, the packaging on the overhang gets damaged and small fortunes are being junked
