I'm not sure which of the Falmer photographs is most pleasing. I have always liked the profile of windswept trees outlined against the sky or, as here, against downland. What a contrast of mood, though, produced by the different colours. The sun must have been out in one and hidden in the other. Or were the photographs taken at different times of day?
I tart up my photos, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. It's the final result that counts. Somehow it didn't occur to me that other people did what I did, which is plain silly of me.

it was really hard for the automatic camera to focus on the soil patterns
