some things can't be photographed, yet the eye sometimes stimulates the optimistic mind to see more than may be true
from the corner of my eye, as i cycled to work down wandsworth high street at half past four this morning, i saw this australian guy skateboarding up the other side of the street with all the strength and grace of youth, carrying in front of him a huge bunch of white roses that gleamed unreally in the light of a huge full moon
i doubled back and he obliged me with this brief pose
as your eyes can see, he's not pretty or elegant, but the beauty of the moment brought tears of joy to my eyes
of the seven deadly sins, the eighth and worst by far is emotional blackmail ... the diligent practise of this subtle and ancient art creates a constantly evolving darwinistic moral vacuum in which the brightest new manipulative ideas and stratagems flourish ... and which only you, or i, can fill !

if only i hadn't been cycling home in such heavy traffic ...
because i might have photographed a lady driving a car whilst trying to scrape a label off the instep of a ( new-looking black velvet-textured high-heeled ) shoe with her teeth
