the lighting is drab

the stairs are tortuous

the air conditioning makes my eyes sting

i closed my eyes & wondered about all the ladies who must have polished this church

for the first time in my life, i worked the handle of a village pump, & clear water issued forth !

 

I will paint our sky a deeper shade of lapis ...
