of the seven deadly sins, the eighth and worst by far is emotional blackmail ... the diligent practise of this subtle and ancient art creates a constantly evolving darwinistic moral vacuum in which the brightest new manipulative ideas and stratagems flourish ... and which only you, or i, can fill !
guilt is a luxury i can't afford ... it is always intriguing to contemplate another's bookshelves, did you once say you have a lot of dictionaries ? i imagine that heaven will be a labyrinth of interesting kitchens, staircases, bedrooms, gardens, and libraries ... just now, i'm trying to get hold of a dvd of estrella de sierra morena, a spanish musical about gypsy folk made in 1952, i saw the middle part of it on the cable tv in our hotel room in barcelona one rainy afternoon last year ... i loved it because it was so foreign in it's old-time andalusian morality, so uninhibitedly melodramatic, full of stereotypical posturing, and it had a plot which was hispanically lurid ... and because lola was the most lurid of the performers

Very nice. The lettering reminds me of the gilt titles on the covers of several of my older books.

That movie sounds terrific. I hope you find the dvd.
I do have a lot of dictionaries. Most of them are lazing about on the shelves behind me while I chase around for one I don't own, a Dutch-English.
